The School of Continuing Studies is seeking an Assistant Coordinator to support all high school programs.


Program Description:

Each summer, the university’s School of Continuing Studies hosts Summer Programs for high school students. The various programs and courses provide opportunities for talented and motivated high school students to learn more about a subject area of their interest. The dynamic programs and courses offer learning opportunities for high school students to hear from university faculty and Washington decision-makers and experts and gain hands-on learning experience through classroom activities and unique educational off-site visits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Coordinator is responsible for the collection, organization, review, and storage of student participant forms, and will respond to participant inquiries online and via phone as it relates to these forms. The coordinator will perform pro-active phone calling and email reminders to students and parents to encourage timely forms submission and provide simple summary statistics on status of participant forms. While programs are in session, the position will provide onsite/field program support as needed.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Review and verify data in class lists and other databases.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Participate in promotional events and activities.
  • Attending on-campus meetings and events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive customer service experience (talking to parents and explaining processes to high school students).
  • Attention to detail (ensuring all forms are accurate and collected).
  • Time management (all items must be collected within time windows).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (interacting with internal stakeholders and parents).
