Summary
Under minimal supervision with detailed instructions the individual will perform a variety of electromechanical assembly tasks, quality inspections and IPC training. The Production Specialist is responsible for building and assembling complex units such as power supplies, modules, chassis, panels, cable harnesses, and electronic systems and sub-assemblies in addition to Inspecting PCBs and mechanical assemblies and providing IPC training when needed. The Production Specialist should be able to complete the most complex assembly tasks with little to no assistance.

Essential Functions
- Build and assemble complex units such as power supply assemblies, modules, chassis, panels, cable and harnesses assemblies, and electronic systems and sub-assemblies using hand and power tools
- Build and assemble cable and wire harness assemblies to IPC-620 criteria
- Complete jobs of all complexities as assigned by the department lead with little to no assistance.
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine assembly instructions. Follow methods and sequence of operation detailed in the work instructions when performing assembly tasks such as wiring, component installation, and soldering.
- Plan and perform detailed inspections of materials, parts and assemblies using precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, depth gages, optical comparators, height gages, surface plate, and digital/automated inspection devices.
- Document all inspection results per company policies and requirements in the ERP system. Follow all requirements of company quality management system including ISO9001, AS9100, and ISO13485 requirements
- Performs receiving inspection, in-process inspection, final inspection, and shipping inspection to ensure quality and conformance to customer specifications, IPC Standards (such as, but not limited to: J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21B, and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Works from engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard inspection directives and procedures
- Inspection may include confirming specifications against customer requirements, checking paperwork including certifications and/or drawings, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting non-conforming material, returning products for re-work, confirming re-work, checking paperwork and quantity of product to be shipped, and providing material certs and first article inspection reports for shipping as specified
- Arrange and conduct training for employees: IPC 610 and IPC 620, JSTD-0001, Rework 7711/7720 or courses as assigned and/or contractually required.
- Organize and deliver training for new products transferred to production department, administer training for new and revised MEI Procedures.
- Document all worked operations in the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner. This includes documenting the job/operation, documenting the time, and indicating conformance (including written comments to document/clarify transactions)
- Confer with lead to resolve questions and issues regarding assembly instructions or drawings
- Distribute materials, supplies, or subassemblies to work areas and perform housekeeping and cleanup duties upon completion of assigned task
- Expected to work in a safe manner and in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
- Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company
Education, Experience, and Skills
- Requires previous related experience of at least five years
- Must have sufficient English communication skills to understand verbal and written instructions, communicate with other employees both verbally and in writing, follow directions and tasks lists, and participate in departmental team meetings and required training classes
- Basic computer skills including ability to work within ERP system
- Thorough understanding of IPC 620 and J-STD-001 criteria
- Thorough understanding of ISO9001, AS9100, ISO13485, ISO14001, and ITAR requirements as related to their job functions
- Proficient in the use of various hand tools including crimpers, strippers, screwdrivers, torque wrenches, soldering irons, taps, dremels , bench saws, vices, and power drills
Salary Range $26.00 - $32.00
